What percent of users report running Windows as their primary HPC operating system for x86-based clusters and blades?
A. 2% (about 1 in 50)
B. 5% (about 1 in 20)
C. 8% (about 1 in 12)
D. 12% (about 1 in 8)
Answer: D. Among 442 respondents, running an x86-based cluster or blade system, 52 (11.8%, or 1 in every 8.5) reported using some version of Windows as their primary HPC operating system, nearly doubling the penetration of Windows reported in 2009.
